SOLARKIOSK coming soon to the Kaffa Region of Ethiopia
In May 2014, the Solarkiosk Ethiopia team will be implementing three Solarkiosks in the Kafa Region of Ethiopia. The project is being led by the Addis Abeba-based Solarkiosk team, with local assistance from NABU, which is is one of the oldest and largest environmental protection associations in Germany. NABU`s main objectives in the Kafa Region are the preservation of habitats and biodiversity, the promotion of sustainability in agriculture, forest management, water supply and distribution, as well as to enhance the local awareness of nature conservation.
The local communities in the Kafa Region depend on the natural wealth offered by the lush cloud forests and Solarkiosk is fully committed to support the efforts of NABU and provide sustainable energy alternatives to the local population, the vast majority of which is still off-grid and without access to solar products and energy services. To learn more about this amazing region of Ethiopia, please visit the NABU project website. Stay tuned for updates and photos from the Kafa communities, as we kick-start the implementation process very soon.
