Solar Sahelis Saral Jeevan Haat 1024x683

SOLARKIOSK is well known to empower communities and entrepreneurs in Africa, but yesterday was an important milestone for the expansion plans of the company.
Our first E-HUBB in India was inaugurated. A big crowd of villagers, women groups, local politicians and partner organizations listened to the Keynote speeches of Andreas Spiess, CEO of Solarkiosk, Dr. Michael Menhart, Head of Economics, Sustainability & Public Affairs @ MunichRe, Ajaita Shah, founder and CEO of Frontier markets and the head of the village gave his blessings to the ceremony and the new business in the village.

Together they discovered this new piece of German technology that has arrived in their village and they learned from the Solar Sahelis (women entrepreneurs that are trained and access technology, marketing, and technical repair, to provide innovative solar solutions to sell to rural households) all about how Solar can change their lives.

The E-HUBB will bring Jobs and Opportunities as well as solar powered products and services to the community of Naugaon, Alwar, Rajasthan, India.
In the coming weeks 4 more kiosks will be inaugurated.
Thomas Rieger, Director of Sales and Marketing @SOLARKIOSK says:

It underlines our commitment to Enable and Empower the sustainable economic development of Base-of-the-Pyramid communities worldwide through the provision of clean energy services, quality products and sustainable solutions, delivered through our solar powered infrastructure solutions together with our partners from Frontier Markets. This important milestone is yet another step on our pathway to bring our technology to many more communities in India and across all of Asia.
