Solar powered water pumping project in Ethiopia

We are absolutely thrilled to share the video about this milestone project that we recently implemented that resonates deeply with our values and mission. The power of collaboration, innovation, and dedicated partners has once again shone brightly as we witness the life-changing impact of the Beyond2020 initiative in Ethiopia.

The installation of six solar-powered watermpumpt in the Dirashe District is a testament to the collective efforts that brought this project to fruition. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners for their unwavering support, which has paved the way for improved access to safe drinking water for 9,000 people in these communities.

At Solarkiosk, we are immensely proud to have played a pivotal role in this journey. As a Zayed Sustainability Prize finalist, our commitment to empowering rural and off-grid communities with sustainable electricity solutions has now expanded to touch the lives of 9,000 people in Ethiopia. This is a true testament to the impact that can be achieved when purpose-driven organizations come together.

Through the partnership with the Zayed Sustainability Prize who partnered with the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Mubadala Energy, and Masdar to make this project come true, we have been able to create tangible change. The villages of Walessa, Holte, and Gato are now equipped with access to safe and hygienic drinking water, leading to a significant reduction in waterborne illnesses.

This project is a symbol of hope, progress, and the boundless potential that lies within collaborative efforts. Together, we are making strides towards a healthier, more sustainable world.
